NCSO asking for help locating missing person

UPDATE: Naomi Mayers, reported missing from Newberry County, has been found. She is safe and in appropriate care.

Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster thanked everyone for their concerns and the information offered in helping locate her.

“We cannot do our jobs without your help and support,” said Sheriff Lee Foster. “Our communities and residents are safer when we have your help and support.”

NEWBERRY COUNTY — The Newberry County Sheriffs Office is asking the public’s assistance in locating a missing person.

Naomi Mayers, 66, was last seen in October by family members. She has been known to ride around in her 1984 navy blue Chevrolet Blazer, with the tag number 2016MAY, frequenting Chapin, Clinton, Newberry and Prosperity. She often stays in her vehicle or in a motel. Although she has been known to wander, she kept a routine of visiting the Post Office in Prosperity and a bank in Chapin.

Mayers’ vehicle was possibly seen in Columbia near Main Street.

Mayers is an African-American female approximately 6’ and 120 lbs. with greying hair and brown eyes.
